Baracuta Spring / Summer 2012 “The Curator”
Spring 12 takes inspiration from Baracuta’s 75 year heritage and built a collection based on the archives of that history. A story of protective outerwear covering 8 decades; from the industrial North West of England, through the Ivy League style of the fifties & sixties, to contemporary outdoor clothing. The archivist is the story of the man who curates these iconic pieces & the objects of his devotion.
The heritage inspired colour palette of Denim Blue, Cornell Red, Golden Virginia and Vintaged Whites defines each style.
The “Curators Choice” Harrington in our G9 shape is made using the finest English cloth from Fox Fabrics; a light-weight wool, linen blend with wax coating. Hand crafted in England.
The G9 story travels through classic fabrications of large ‘Ivy League’ inspired checks & summer ticking stripes. Outerwear takes its inspiration from summer outerwear classics; the summer parka, shawl collar harrington & light-weight summer blousons.
The signature button down collar features in the jersey with a jersey button through shirt. Fine ticking stripes and a fine stripe Henley complement the chambray trim jersey styles.
Shirts offer updated check variations on iconic Baracuta silhouettes, with emphasis on details; the cut away & penny collars merge to become the Eton collar & the classic, longer point button down collar resurfaces as a new direction. Chambray becomes much smarter with subtle detailing & vintage inspired aertex keeps the summer mood. Chinos continue to be important with smart shorts in a compact twill complimenting the trousers for a high summer alternative.
